动物疫病防治培训班项目情况简介
一、项目基本情况
受中华人民共和国商务部委托，吉林农业大学将于2008年9月25日至10月24日在吉林长春举办动物疫病防治培训班，培训班使用语言为英语。培训内容系统地涵盖了中国目前先进、实用的动物疫病防治技术和部分理论基础，具体课程有：中国国情，动物重大疫病检疫、诊断和防控前沿专题，动物食品安全专题讲座，动物免疫学前沿专题讲座，动物药理学前沿专题讲座，动物寄生虫病防控技术，动物病毒病防控研究进展，营养调控与动物疾病等等。培训班的主讲教师均为我校长期从事动物疫病防治技术研究和教学的专家，大部分教员可直接用英语授课，具有多年参加国际培训授课的经验。培训班采取课堂教学与实地考察相结合的方式，培训班期间，将安排学员赴吉林省境内参观和考察相关企业和具体实施范例，了解动物疫病防治技术的推广应用情况和相关的生物制药产品市场。
此次培训班招生对象为非洲等地区发展中国家动物疫病检验、检疫官员及专业技术人员，每国1至2人。培训班举办期间为秋季，吉林长春等地的气温估计在7℃－16℃之间。
二、承办单位基本情况
吉林农业大学创建于1948年，是吉林省重点大学，是我国首批具有学士、硕士学位授予权的高等学校，是吉林省属院校中最早获得博士学位授予权的高校，是吉林省农业、农村发展重要的人才培养和科技创新的摇篮。学校现有14所学院，现有52个本科专业；51个硕士学位授权学科，17个博士学位授权学科；2个博士后科研流动站。学校现有教职工1657人，其中高级专业技术职称488人；现有全日制在校本专科生16000人，硕士研究生1400人。本次培训班的师资主要依托吉林农业大学动物科学技术学院，具有2个省级强势特色重点学科，主要授课教师具有出国留学培训、参加境外学术交流和合作研究的经历。
吉林农业大学历来非常重视外事工作，国际交流与合作取得显著成绩。学校与美国、日本、意大利、乌克兰、加拿大、英国、韩国、俄罗斯等国家的高校建立了校际友好关系。国际交往日益活跃，学校影响日益扩大。2006年和2007年分别承担商务部援外技术培训项目，在培训内容、培训方式、学员管理和交流合作等方面，积累了成功的援外培训经验，为进一步承担援外培训任务创造了条件。

Introduction of Training Course on Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics
1. General information
Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Training Course on Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics will be held in Changchun, Jilin from Sep. 25 to Oct 24 of 2008 by Jilin Agricultural University (JAU). English is used as working language of this program. The training content has systematically covered the Chinese present advanced, practical and applicable technology of Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics and the related theories. The curriculum includes: the Chinese national conditions, the present status and prospect of Seminars for Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics, Animal Food Safety, Animal Immunology, Animal Pharmacology, Prevention & Control of Animal Parasitic Epidemics, Development of Animal Viruses Prevention & Control, Nutrition Control & Animal Epidemics, and the other related topics. The lecturers during the training class all have been engaged in the research work of Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics field for a long time and have accumulated numerous experiences; and most professors can teach directly in English. The course will both include the class teaching, learning and field visits so that the participants can have much better understanding of what they have learnt in the class. During the training course, the participants will be arranged to visit the enterprises, the concrete implementation model, so as to understand the research, development of prevention and treatment for animal epidemics in China as well as the bio-medicine products market.
Participants will be the technical and managerial officers of Prevention and Treatment for Animal Epidemics area from African countries and other areas, and we expect 1 or 2 participants each country.. The training course will be held in autumn, the temperature of Changchun, Jilin ranges from 7℃ to 16℃.
2. Introduction to JAU
Jilin Agricultural University was one of the key comprehensive provincial universities, founded in 1948. It was one of the first groups of universities, granted the authority to confer bachelors and masters degrees. In 1993, it was authorized to confer Doctoral degrees, making it the first university in Jilin Province to do so. Jilin Agricultural University is the cradle for training agricultural intellectuals. There are 14 colleges offering 52 specialties for bachelor degree, 51 programs for master degree, 17 for doctorial degree, and 2 projects for post doctorial research. JAU has a batch of qualified teaching faculty, totaling 1,657, who are made up of 488 professors and its equivalents. The total enrolment is 16,000 full-time undergraduates and 1,400 postgraduates. Most of the professors and associate professors who are involved in this Training Course are from the College of Animal Science & Technology, which is the discipline with characteristics at provincial level. Most of the lecturers have the experiences of studying, researching and attending the international academic workshops abroad.
JAU has been attaching more importance to the work of foreign affairs and achieved much in international exchange and cooperation. Various kinds of collaborative research projects and exchange programs have been established in relation to the universities and institutes in countries like U.S.A., Japan, Italy, Ukraine, Canada, U.K, South Korea, Russia and so on. Currently the University’s scientific research level has been improved much with international influence, and with a batch of qualified teaching faculty, young backbone teachers, rational teaching structure and perfect facilities and equipments, which is the profound foundation for some more international academic exchanges and training courses. Respectively in 2006 and 2007, the foreign-aid programs by Ministry of Commerce of P. R. China were undertaken and some experiences in participants’ organization, training contents, training methods, participants’ management and international exchanges have been accumulated, which is the guarantee for fulfilling further more training tasks of foreign-aid programs.
