“竹业技术培训班”项目情况简介
一、项目基本情况
受中华人民共和国商务部委托，国家林业局竹子研究开发中心将于2008年6月1日至7月30日在杭州举办“竹业技术培训班”。培训的目的是使学员了解中国及世界竹业的最新进展；掌握竹子培育、综合加工利用等方面的基本理论和方法；提高综合开发利用竹子的能力和水平；加强竹业经济技术合作与交流，推动世界竹业发展。培训班采取课堂和现场教学、参观考察、动手实习和座谈讨论相结合的方式，邀请中国竹业界一流专家，具有丰富实践经验的竹/林场场长、加工厂厂长以及竹业/林业政府官员授课，还将安排学员到浙江等著名竹产区实地考察。
培训内容包括：
概论：中国及世界竹子的现状和发展；
竹子栽培：竹子分类，竹子基因库的建立，竹子繁殖和育苗，竹子引种和驯化，竹子生物学及生态学（竹子个体及群体生长、发育），竹子碳汇及竹子在清洁能源机制中的作用，竹林定向培育（笋用林、材用林、笋材两用林、沿海防护林、水源涵养林、水土保持林、景观林、制浆林），竹子园林绿化，竹子病虫害防治和竹荪菌栽培；
竹子加工：竹笋保鲜、竹笋加工（罐头笋和各种风味小包装笋加工），竹材漂白和染色，全竹竹地板和竹木复合地板，竹材人造板（建筑水泥模板、汽车/火车/集装箱底板等），竹窗帘，竹凉席，竹垫子；竹工艺品，竹炭、竹活性炭及竹醋液，竹纤维，竹浆造纸，竹子建筑；竹业生计、政策及市场。
本次培训的工作语言为英语。招生对象为发展中国家从事林/竹业、农业、环境、旅游等相关领域的管理和技术人员等，每国1-2人。
培训期间为夏季，浙江气温为20℃～35℃。
二、承办单位基本情况
国家林业局竹子研究开发中心（以下简称中心）是国家级竹业研究开发机构，隶属于国家林业局。国家科技部、国家林业局赋予其三大任务为：一、承担、组织、协调国内外重大竹业研究开发项目；二、进行竹业国际经济技术交流合作及人员培训；三、竹业工业化。中心于1988成立于中国著名竹乡杭州，本部大楼中竹大厦建筑面积16，000㎡，具备四星级标准设施。中心拥有两大直属的竹子基地：一是集竹子栽培、实验示范地，二是竹地板、竹炭、竹活性炭等竹材综合加工基地；并在全国建有40多个培训教学参观实习点。中心在竹林培育、竹子加工等多项研发方面独具特色，处于国内领先水平，可为南南合作及发展中国家提供技术支持及各项咨询服务。
作为首批承担援外培训任务的单位之一，自上世纪90年代初起，中心在中国商务部、联合国开发计划署、联合国工业发展组织等的委托下承办了19期多边技术培训班/研讨会，并为印度等政府举办了6期双边合作培训班。共为五大洲近65个国家培训了700多名竹业界、林业界的人才，为世界竹业发展和南南合作做出了贡献。

Project Introduction Training Course on Bamboo Technologies
1. General information
Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, P. R. China (MOFCOM), Training Course on Bamboo Technologies will be hosted by China National Bamboo Research Center (CBRC) in Hangzhou from 1 June to 30 July, 2008.
The objective of the course is to let participants know the updating situations of bamboo industry in China and in the world, have a good master of the basic theories and principles of bamboo’s technologies, and create a platform for a fruitful cooperation, so as to enhance their awareness and capacity of integrated development of bamboo industry. Famous bamboo experts/professors even academician, managers, government officials in forestry / bamboo all over China would be invited to give lectures by modality of in-class lectures, field tours, on-the-spot practicing/demonstration and discussion etc. Colorful field tours are arranged to some most dynamic bamboo regions all over China.
The main course contents include:
1) General Information: Situation and development of China’s and world’s bamboo industry;
2) Bamboo’s cultivation: Bamboo taxonomy; Bamboo genetic pool set-up and maintenance; Bamboo propagation; Bamboo species introduction and domestication; Bamboo biology and ecology; Bamboo’s role in clean development mechanism(CDM) as a sequestration; Oriented cultivation, classification management, and ecological cultivation of bamboo plantation for shoot, timber, both shoot and timber, coastal shelter, water and soil conservation, landscape, and pulp etc.; Bamboo landscaping; Bamboo pest control; Bamboo mushroom cultivation;
3) Bamboo’s processing and utilization: Bamboo shoot preservation; Bamboo shoot processing (can shoot, small-packing multi-flavored shoot); Bamboo timber beaching and dyeing; Bamboo flooring/ bamboo- wood floor; Bamboo artificial boards(bamboo concrete board, bamboo-based boards for bus, train and container);Bamboo mats /cushions(strip and square form); Bamboo arts and handicrafts; Bamboo charcoal/ active charcoal and bamboo vinegar; Bamboo fiber; Bamboo pulping and paper-making and Bamboo machines etc.;
4) Bamboo policy and livelihood; and
5) Bamboo marketing.
The working language of the training is English. The course is designed for researchers, technicians, or entrepreneurs from the sectors of forestry, environment, agriculture, natural resources, tourism etc. of developing countries, one or two persons from each country.
June and July in Zhejiang is summer, or 20℃～35℃.
2. Introduction of CBRC
CBRC is a government-funded, national institute of bamboo under jurisdiction to the State Administration of Forestry (SAF). It is also affiliated to China Academy of Forestry (CAF) which is China’s top national forestry institute. It has 3 Missions as enshrined by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and SAF: (a). Bamboo’s R. & D. at national and international level; (b). International exchange, cooperation and personnel training of bamboo; and (c). Bamboo’s industrialization.
CBRC is established in 1988 and headquartered in Hangzhou which not only is a picturesque city, but also one of China's most dynamic and booming regions of bamboo’s R. & D., production and marketing etc. CBRC has advanced labs and sets up 2 key field bases for R. & D and technical demonstration, and undertakes many ministerial /provincial R. & D. projects and international cooperation projects. It has art-of-the-state training facilities in its 4-star China Bamboo Plaza, and over 40 bamboo partners for on-the-spot training and practicing in China. In a word, CBRC is of strong capacities for conducting not only bamboo training for other developing countries but also follow-up cooperation.
As one of China’s pioneer members of undertaking bamboo training for developing countries in China , it is since early 1990’s that CBRC has been holding with great success 19 multilateral training courses / workshops entrusted by the MOFCOM, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Industry Development Organization (UNIDO), and 6 bilateral ones with some individual governments such as India, etc. So far, around 700 participants from 65 countries have been well trained, which is definitely playing a huge role in the promotion of world bamboo development.
